Terms & Conditions

The long, honest version of how we keep this community fair.

General Terms

Acceptance of Terms: By signing up for TuneFreq, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

Who Can Use TuneFreq: You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you need parental consent to make purchases or upload music for sale.

Account Responsibility: You're responsible for your account security. Choose a strong password, don't share it, and notify us immediately if your account is compromised.

Prohibited Conduct: Don't use TuneFreq to upload illegal content, spam users, harass others, or attempt to hack the platform. We'll terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Platform Fees: TuneFreq charges a 5% platform fee on all sales. Artists keep 95% (minus payment processing fees, which are separate and set by Stripe). Our first $5,000 revenue promotion (0% fees) applies to qualifying artists.

Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, infringe copyright, or harm the community. You can delete your account anytime from the Control Room.

Artist Terms

Content Ownership: You retain all rights to music you upload. TuneFreq does not claim ownership of your work. By uploading, you grant us a limited license to host, transcode, and distribute your music on the platform.

Copyright Compliance: You must own or have permission to upload all content. Uploading copyrighted material without authorization violates our DMCA Policy and may result in account termination.

Pricing & Sales: Artists set their own prices (fixed, name-your-price, or free). TuneFreq does not dictate pricing. Sales are final unless you choose to offer refunds.

Payouts: Artists receive payouts weekly (every Monday) for sales in their balance. There is no minimum payout threshold. Payouts are processed via Stripe to your connected bank account.

Taxes: Artists are responsible for reporting and paying taxes on their earnings. TuneFreq provides sales reports but does not withhold taxes (except where legally required for international artists).

Bulk Upload: Artists can upload multiple files simultaneously. You're responsible for ensuring all uploaded files comply with these terms and copyright law.

Community Radio: Tracks are opted into community radio by default (128kbps preview quality). You can opt out individual tracks or releases from your Control Room. Radio plays help listeners discover your music.

Content Removal: You can unpublish or delete content anytime. Purchases already made are not revoked—listeners keep what they bought. Refunds (if any) are your responsibility.

Listener Terms

Purchases: When you purchase music, you're buying a digital download license for personal, non-commercial use. You do not acquire rights to redistribute, resell, or use the music commercially.

Downloads: Purchased music is available for download in the format(s) offered by the artist (e.g., MP3, FLAC, WAV). Download links are accessible from your Control Room library.

No Refunds (Default): Sales are final unless the artist chooses to offer refunds. If you have an issue with a purchase (e.g., corrupted file), contact the artist first. If unresolved, email us at [email protected].

Streaming & Radio: Community radio is free and accessible to all users (no account required). Preview-quality streams (128kbps) are available for discovery. Full-quality streams (256kbps) require purchase or artist opt-in.

Account Library: Your purchased music is stored in your Control Room library. We aim to make purchases available indefinitely, but we cannot guarantee perpetual access (e.g., if TuneFreq shuts down). Download your purchases promptly.

Messaging Artists: You can send messages to artists when you purchase their music. Be respectful—harassment or abuse will result in account suspension.

Limitation of Liability

TuneFreq is provided "as is" without warranties. We strive for 99.9% uptime, but technical issues happen. We're not liable for lost revenue, data loss, or other damages arising from platform outages or bugs.

Artists and listeners interact directly. TuneFreq is not responsible for disputes between users (e.g., refund requests, copyright claims). We provide the platform; you use it at your own risk.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as TuneFreq evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or a site notice. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the new terms.
